The Clan Maxwell Society of the USA is a vibrant group, dedicated to exploring and preserving the wonderful Scottish heritage of Maxwells and their allied and dependent families. And we have a rich heritage to preserve. From the Maxwells’ legendary exploits at Caerlaverock Castle to their leadership in the Borders region as hereditary Wardens of the West March, our ancestors left us a colorful history of which we can be very proud. It is a privilege to carry their tradition forward, whether researching their past exploits or gathering with others of today’s family under the Maxwell banner.

Clan Maxwell USA is not just for Maxwells, however; it is also open to all who are descended from families allied with the Maxwells in the Scottish Borders. Those families share our heritage, a fact which we have recognized through their full membership in the Society since we organized in 1964.

If you are descended from any of the families in the House of Maxwell, I invite you to join our growing organization. We started with a handful of kinsmen, and today our membership stretches around the world. With fascinating projects underway and an ever-expanding schedule of opportunities to gather for fun and fellowship, it’s too good for any Maxwell to miss!
